Description

This 7 Layer Dip is a delicious and colorful appetizer that’s perfect for parties, game days, or any gathering. With layers of creamy refried beans, tangy sour cream, salsa, cheese, and fresh veggies, it’s a crowd-pleaser that’s simple to make and can be served with chips or fresh veggies. Plus, it’s a healthier version using fat-free and reduced-fat ingredients, making it a guilt-free snack for everyone to enjoy.


Ingredients

1 (16 oz) can fat-free refried beans

4 oz 1/3 less fat cream cheese, softened

1 cup fat-free sour cream

2 tablespoons taco seasoning

1 cup salsa

4 oz 50% reduced-fat sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 ½2 cups shredded lettuce

½ cup chopped cherry tomatoes

¼ cup sliced black olives


Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, mix fat-free refried beans with 1 tablespoon taco seasoning. Spread evenly in a large serving dish.

  • In a separate bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, and the remaining 1 tablespoon taco seasoning. Mix until smooth and creamy. Spread this mixture over the refried beans.

  • Spread salsa evenly over the sour cream layer.

  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the salsa.

  • Layer shredded lettuce, followed by chopped cherry tomatoes.

  • Finish with sliced black olives on top.

  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

  • Serve with tortilla chips or fresh veggies for dipping.

Notes

Make Ahead: This dip is great for prepping in advance. Make it the day before and refrigerate.

Meat Option: Add ground beef or chicken seasoned with taco seasoning for added protein.
