Description
These Air Fryer Salmon Patties are a healthier alternative to traditional fried patties, made with fresh salmon, herbs, and a light Cajun aioli for dipping. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, they’re perfect for a quick and nutritious meal in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
For the Salmon Patties:
- 1 lb fresh salmon, minced
- 2 tbsp chives, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour (or more if needed)
- Cooking spray (olive, avocado, or canola oil)
- 1 lemon, cut into 4 wedges
For the Cajun Aioli:
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- ¼ tsp Cajun seasoning
Instructions
-
Prepare the Aioli Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, garlic, lemon juice, and Cajun seasoning.
- Cover and refrigerate to let the flavors meld.
-
Make the Salmon Patties:
- In a large bowl, combine minced salmon, chives, parsley, garlic, and salt.
- Add flour to help bind the mixture. If needed, add more flour until the mixture holds together.
- Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
-
Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Set the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and allow it to preheat.
-
Prepare the Air Fryer Basket:
- Place a lemon wedge under each patty in the basket to prevent sticking and infuse flavor.
- Lightly spray the tops of the patties with cooking spray.
-
Cook the Patties:
- Insert the basket and reduce temperature to 275°F (135°C).
- Cook for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through and spraying the tops again.
- The patties are done when they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and are golden brown.
-
Serve:
- Remove from the air fryer and serve hot with chilled Cajun aioli.
Notes
- Alternative Binders: Use breadcrumbs or crushed saltine crackers instead of flour. A beaten egg can also help bind the patties.
- Extra Flavor: Add finely chopped onions, bell peppers, or celery for extra texture.
- Spicy Kick: Adjust the Cajun seasoning or add a splash of hot sauce to the aioli.
