Description

These Apple Roses with Puff Pastry are an elegant and delicious dessert, combining crisp apples, cinnamon sugar, and flaky puff pastry into a beautiful and flavorful treat. Perfect for impressing guests or adding a special touch to any occasion, these apple roses are a stunning yet simple dessert.

Ingredients

Puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)

Apples (Granny Smith, Fuji, Gala, or Honeycrisp)

Lemon juice

Water

Cinnamon

Granulated sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 190°C (370°F) and lightly grease a muffin pan.

  • Prepare the apples: Slice apples thinly, leaving the skin on, and place them in a bowl with water and lemon juice to prevent browning. Microwave the apple slices for about 5 minutes until soft.

  • Mix the cinnamon sugar: In a separate bowl, mix cinnamon and granulated sugar together.

  • Assemble the tarts: Unfold the puff pastry and cut it into strips. Place apple slices on the pastry, overlapping them, then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

  • Roll and bake: Fold the pastry in half and roll up from one end to the other. Place each rolled pastry into the muffin tin.

  • Bake for 45 minutes, covering with foil after 15 minutes to avoid over-browning.

  • Let the tarts cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Storage: Best served fresh but can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to regain the crisp texture.

Variations: Try using pears, peaches, or berries instead of apples for a unique twist. For extra richness, add Nutella or caramel sauce inside the pastry. Swap cinnamon for nutmeg, ginger, or cardamom for different flavors.

Glaze: A light glaze made from powdered sugar and milk can add sweetness and shine.
