Ingredients
Dough:
- 400 g (15 ounces) self-rising flour
- 10 g (0.4 ounces) instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 200 ml (⅘ cup) warm water
- 120 ml (½ cup) milk
Toppings:
- 20 cherry tomatoes, halved
- 10 black olives
- Rock salt (to taste)
- Fresh rosemary
- 1 glass of water
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Add olive oil, warm water, and milk. Stir until combined.
- Knead the Dough: Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Preheat & Prepare: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking tray with olive oil.
- Shape the Dough: Spread dough onto the tray, using fingers to create dimples.
- Add Toppings: Press tomatoes and olives into the dough, sprinkle with rock salt and rosemary, and drizzle with olive oil.
- Second Rise: Let the dough rest for 15–20 minutes.
- Bake: Pour a glass of water onto the oven’s bottom for steam. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool & Serve: Let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
