Description

Ingredients

Dough:

  • 400 g (15 ounces) self-rising flour
  • 10 g (0.4 ounces) instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 200 ml (⅘ cup) warm water
  • 120 ml (½ cup) milk

Toppings:

  • 20 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 10 black olives
  • Rock salt (to taste)
  • Fresh rosemary
  • 1 glass of water
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Add olive oil, warm water, and milk. Stir until combined.
  • Knead the Dough: Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • First Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  • Preheat & Prepare: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking tray with olive oil.
  • Shape the Dough: Spread dough onto the tray, using fingers to create dimples.
  • Add Toppings: Press tomatoes and olives into the dough, sprinkle with rock salt and rosemary, and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Second Rise: Let the dough rest for 15–20 minutes.
  • Bake: Pour a glass of water onto the oven’s bottom for steam. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool & Serve: Let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
