Description

Indulge in this creamy chocolate avocado mousse, a healthier dessert option that’s rich, silky, and packed with nutrients. Made with ripe avocados, cocoa powder, and honey or maple syrup, this mousse is naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, and can be customized to your taste. Perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth without the guilt!

Ingredients

2 ripe avocados

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

1/4 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Optional: Dark chocolate shavings for topping

Instructions

  • Slice the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a food processor or blender.

  • Add the cocoa powder, honey (or maple syrup), milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the blender.

  • Blend until smooth and creamy.

  • Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness or cocoa powder as desired.

  • Transfer the mousse to serving bowls and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill.

  • Top with dark chocolate shavings before serving, if desired.

Notes

Variations: You can swap honey or maple syrup for a sugar substitute like stevia for a lower-calorie option. Spice things up with a dash of cinnamon or chili powder, or add fresh berries for a refreshing twist.

Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days.

No Blender?: Mash the avocados with a fork and mix in the other ingredients manually, though the texture will be chunkier.
