Description

This Banana Fudge is a creamy, indulgent dessert that combines the rich texture of fudge with the sweet, tropical flavor of ripe bananas. With simple ingredients and minimal effort, this melt-in-your-mouth treat is perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth. Add white chocolate chips and nuts for extra texture, or keep it simple for a deliciously unique fudge!

Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, mashed

2 cups granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the pan: Line an 8×8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

  • Mash the bananas: In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth and creamy.

  • Cook the fudge base: In a medium saucepan, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, unsalted butter, and sweetened condensed milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture comes to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly.

  • Add vanilla: Once thickened, remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

  • Mix in the optional ingredients: If using, stir in the white chocolate chips and chopped nuts until evenly combined.

  • Pour and set: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Let it cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for 2-3 hours or until fully set.

  • Serve: Once set, cut into small squares and serve.

Notes

Add-ins: Stir in dried fruit like raisins, cranberries, or apricots for an extra fruity bite.

Chocolate Version: Add cocoa powder to the mixture for a chocolatey twist.

Dairy-Free Option: Use a dairy-free condensed milk alternative or coconut milk for a dairy-free version.
