Description

Impress guests with this Blue Cheese Walnut Thyme Puff Pastry Twirl recipe! Flaky, golden pastry is filled with creamy blue cheese, crunchy walnuts, and fresh thyme for a sophisticated appetizer that’s easy to make yet irresistibly elegant.

Ingredients

2 sheets of puff pastry (square-shaped)

2 tablespoons honey

100 grams blue cheese, crumbled

100 grams Parmesan cheese, grated

50 grams walnuts, chopped

68 sprigs fresh thyme leaves

1 tablespoon milk

Sea salt and cracked pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) or 200°C (390°F) for non-fan-forced ovens.

  • Drizzle 1 tablespoon of honey over each puff pastry sheet.

  • Evenly sprinkle walnuts, blue cheese, Parmesan, and thyme over the pastry. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Roll up each sheet tightly and slice in half lengthwise.

  • Twist each strip and coil into a round shape on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  • Brush with milk for a golden finish.

  • Bake for 25–30 minutes until puffed and golden brown.

  • Garnish with extra thyme leaves before serving.

Notes

Omit walnuts for a nut-free version.

Substitute blue cheese with goat cheese, feta, or brie for a different flavor.

Add balsamic glaze after baking for a sweet finish.

Try rosemary or oregano instead of thyme for variety.

Reheat in an oven, not the microwave, to keep it crispy.
