Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 (8 oz) can crescent roll dough
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Prepare the beef filling: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until soft. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Once fully browned, drain any excess grease. Stir in ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
-
Assemble the pockets: Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture on the wide end of each triangle and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
-
Bake: Arrange the pockets on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
-
Serve: Let the pockets cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Spicy Version: Add jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture for a spicy kick.
Different Cheeses: Use Swiss, pepper jack, or gouda for a different flavor profile.
Healthier Option: Use ground turkey or lean chicken instead of beef, and opt for whole-wheat dough.
