Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional for topping)

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a little oil to prevent sticking.
  • Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Once the skillet is hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and is golden brown.
  • If desired, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the chicken during the last minute of cooking, allowing it to melt.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet, let it rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

  • Add fresh basil or spinach for extra flavor before topping with mozzarella.
  • For added flavor, marinate the chicken for 30 minutes prior to cooking.
  • You can mix mozzarella and Parmesan for an extra cheesy topping.
