Cinnamon Roll Muffins offer the irresistible flavors of classic cinnamon rolls in an easy, quick muffin form. Swirled with cinnamon sugar and topped with a cream cheese glaze, they’re perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy snack.

Ingredients

For the Muffins:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon Filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Glaze:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with liners or lightly grease with cooking spray.
  2. Prepare the Muffin Batter:
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • In another bowl, whisk melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
    • Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  3. Prepare the Cinnamon Filling:
    • In a small bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon until smooth.
  4. Assemble the Muffins:
    • Fill each muffin cup halfway with batter.
    • Add a spoonful of cinnamon filling on top of the batter in each cup.
    • Top with the remaining batter, filling each cup almost to the top.
    • Swirl the batter and cinnamon filling using a toothpick or skewer to create a marbled effect.
  5. Bake the Muffins:
    • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
    • Cool muffins in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Prepare the Cream Cheese Glaze:
    • Beat softened cream cheese in a medium bowl until smooth.
    • Add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth, adding more milk as needed for drizzling consistency.
  7. Glaze the Muffins:
    • Once muffins are cooled, drizzle the cream cheese glaze over each muffin using a spoon or piping bag.
  8. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Serve warm or at room temperature for a deliciously cozy treat.
