Description

These Loaded Cowboy BBQ Tater Tot Nachos are the perfect fusion of crispy tater tots, savory ground beef, melted cheese, and tangy BBQ sauce. Ideal for game days, parties, or casual dinners, these nachos offer bold, mouthwatering flavors that will be a hit with everyone.

Ingredients

1 bag frozen tater tots

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, chopped

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

½ cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven according to the tater tots package instructions, typically around 425°F (220°C).

  • While the tater tots are baking, cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces. Add the chopped onion and sauté until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, about 5-7 minutes.

  • Stir in the BBQ sauce and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld.

  • Once the tater tots are crispy and golden, remove them from the oven and arrange them on a large serving plate or baking dish.

  • Spoon the seasoned beef and onion mixture over the tater tots.

  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the beef mixture.

  • Return the loaded tater tots to the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Serve immediately, garnished with additional BBQ sauce if desired.

Notes

To make it spicier, add diced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce.

For a vegetarian version, swap the ground beef for a plant-based protein or sautéed vegetables like mushrooms and bell peppers.

Experiment with different cheeses like Monterey Jack or mozzarella for a varied flavor.

Top with sour cream, guacamole, or fresh cilantro for extra flair.
