Description

These cream cheese sugar cookies take the classic sugar cookie to the next level. Soft, chewy, and subtly tangy, they’re a perfect treat for any occasion. Easy to make with common pantry ingredients, these cookies are perfect for decorating or enjoying on their own.


Ingredients

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt


Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

  • Cream together butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes with an electric mixer).

  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.

  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.

  • Flatten each cookie slightly with a glass or your hands.

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.

  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

Freeze cookies for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave or oven.

Optional: Chill the dough for 30 minutes to prevent spreading and help cookies hold their shape.
