Description

This creamy beef and noodle casserole is a delicious comfort food, combining savory ground beef, creamy cheese, and egg noodles in a rich tomato sauce. Perfect for weeknight dinners or gatherings, this easy casserole is sure to satisfy with its velvety texture and hearty flavor.

Ingredients

8 oz egg noodles

lbs ground beef

2 cans (15 oz each) tomato sauce

8 oz cream cheese, softened

8 oz sour cream

2 tsp minced garlic

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp sugar

¼ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute.

  • Stir in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, sugar, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes.

  • Reduce the heat and add the cream cheese and sour cream to the skillet. Stir until the cream cheese is fully melted and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.

  • Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet, tossing to coat them in the creamy beef mixture.

  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey for a leaner option.

For a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños to the sauce.

Use Greek yogurt or cream cheese in place of sour cream for a slightly different flavor.

Feel free to add vegetables like peas, mushrooms, or spinach for extra nutrition.
