Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream (plus an additional ½ cup for optional topping)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add chopped onion to the skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. In a large bowl, mix cooked rice, ground beef mixture, French onion soup, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread evenly.
