Ingredients

For the Steak Bites:

For the Mashed Potatoes:

2 lbs (900 g) potatoes, peeled and cubed

1/2 cup (120 ml) milk or cream

3 tablespoons butter

Instructions

For the Steak Bites:

  1. Cook the steak: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites in a single layer, searing each side for 2-3 minutes, until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak bites and set aside.

  2. Make the garlic butter: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute, then add butter, thyme, and rosemary. Stir to combine and let the butter melt.

  3. Combine steak and garlic butter: Return steak bites to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the steak is coated in the flavorful sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then remove from heat.

For the Mashed Potatoes:

  1. Boil the potatoes: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and add the peeled and cubed potatoes. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until fork-tender.

  2. Mash the potatoes: Drain the potatoes, return them to the pot, and add butter and milk (or cream). Mash until smooth and creamy, adjusting the consistency with more milk or cream if needed. Season with salt and pepper.

To Serve:
