Description

Grilled lemon chicken is a healthy, juicy, and flavorful dish perfect for any grilling occasion. The bright, zesty marinade made with fresh lemon juice, garlic, and oregano brings out the natural flavors of the chicken. This quick and easy recipe is ideal for a light meal, paired with fresh salads, roasted vegetables, or grains for a complete and satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

3 tablespoons olive oil

3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Marinate the chicken: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Pour the marinade over the chicken breasts and let them marinate for 20-30 minutes (no longer than 6 hours).

  • Preheat the grill: Heat your grill to medium-high heat.

  • Grill the chicken: Place the chicken on the preheated grill and cook for 5-7 minutes on one side without moving it. Flip the chicken and cook for another 5-7 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F for white meat or 165°F for dark meat.

  • Rest the chicken: Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

To add extra flavor, zest the lemon and add it to the marinade for a stronger citrusy kick.

Chicken thighs can be used as a substitute for breasts if you prefer dark meat.

For a spicier version, add chili flakes or hot sauce to the marinade.
