Description

Harissa Grilled Salmon is a delicious, spicy twist on traditional grilled salmon, featuring a bold harissa marinade with smoky, tangy flavors. This quick and healthy dish is perfect for grilling and pairs beautifully with fresh herbs and lemon. It’s a great option for a light, flavorful dinner, ideal for both weeknight meals and weekend gatherings.

Ingredients

Harissa paste

Olive oil

Fresh lemon juice

Fresh salmon fillets

Sea salt

Ground black pepper

Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the harissa paste, olive oil, and fresh lemon juice. Stir well to create a marinade.

  2. Season the salmon fillets with sea salt and ground black pepper on both sides.

  3. Rub the harissa marinade over the salmon fillets, coating them evenly. Allow the salmon to marinate for at least 15-20 minutes (or up to 1 hour) in the refrigerator.

  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a grill pan, heat it over medium-high heat on the stove.

  5. Place the marinated salmon fillets on the grill, skin-side down if the skin is on. Grill for 4-5 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  6. Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.

  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley and serve with additional lemon wedges, if desired.

Notes

Add Vegetables: Grill vegetables like zucchini, bell peppers, or asparagus alongside the salmon for a complete meal.

Increase the Spice: Add chili powder or cayenne pepper to the marinade for an extra kick.

Switch Up the Herb: Use dill or basil instead of cilantro or parsley for a different flavor.

Use a Different Fish: The marinade also works well with tuna, trout, or tilapia.
