Description

This Honey Spelt Bread is an easy-to-make, delicious loaf with a perfect balance of mild honey sweetness and the nutty, hearty flavor of spelt flour. Ideal for breakfast, lunch, or as a snack, this healthy, fiber-packed bread is simple to prepare and will quickly become a family favorite.

Ingredients

1 cup whole milk

1 cup honey

¼ cup unsalted butter, room temperature

2 whole eggs, beaten lightly

2½ cups spelt flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease a loaf pan.

  2. Heat the milk over low heat in a saucepan. Stir in honey until fully combined and remove from heat.

  3. Add the softened butter and beaten eggs to the milk and honey mixture, mixing well.

  4. Stir in the spelt flour, salt, and baking soda until just combined.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 40–45 minutes, until the top is golden and a skewer inserted comes out clean. If it browns too quickly, reduce the oven temperature to 300°F (150°C).

  6. Cool before slicing.

Notes

Non-Dairy Option: Substitute milk with almond or oat milk for a dairy-free version.

Adjust Sweetness: Use less honey for a less sweet bread.

Spices: Add cinnamon or nutmeg for a seasonal touch.

Add-ins: Nuts or seeds can be added for extra crunch and nutrition.
