Description

These Ooey Gooey Bars are the ultimate sweet treat—soft, buttery, and irresistibly chewy. Made with just three simple ingredients, they come together quickly, making them perfect for busy days, potlucks, or satisfying last-minute cravings. Whether you enjoy them plain or with added mix-ins, these bars will melt in your mouth with every bite!

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix (dry, not prepared)
  • 8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the dry cake mix, melted butter, and egg in a bowl until well combined. The batter will be thick and sticky.
  3. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray. Spread the batter evenly in the dish.
  4. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Add chocolate chips for extra richness.
  • Stir in cinnamon for a warm, spiced flavor.
  • Top with frosting after cooling for an indulgent finish.
  • Make it gluten-free by using a gluten-free cake mix.
