Description

Stuffed Crescent Roll Carrots are a fun, creative appetizer or side dish that’s perfect for spring gatherings. Filled with a creamy, herbed cream cheese mixture and shaped like adorable carrots, they bring a playful touch to your meal. Easy to make and deliciously savory, they’re a hit at parties or holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 8 (12×4-inch) sheets of foil

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls (8 Count) or 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Dough Sheet

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives

  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 16 small sprigs fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Unroll the crescent rolls or dough sheet onto a work surface. If using crescent rolls, pinch the perforations together to form a rectangle.

  • Cut the dough into 8 triangles (if using a dough sheet, cut it into 8 equal rectangles).

  • In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, chopped parsley, chives, lemon peel, and salt until smooth and well combined.

  • Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture at the wide end of each crescent roll triangle.

  • Roll up the crescent rolls, starting from the wide end, and shape them into a “carrot” shape by curving the tips.

  • Place each stuffed crescent roll on a foil sheet, twisting the ends of the foil to secure them into carrot shapes.

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.

  • Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.

  • Garnish each roll with a small sprig of fresh parsley to resemble carrot tops.

Notes

  • Add garlic powder or minced fresh garlic to the cream cheese mixture for extra flavor.

  • Mix in shredded cheddar cheese or parmesan for a richer filling.

  • Consider adding chopped spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, or herbs like thyme or basil for a unique twist.

  • Use gluten-free crescent rolls or dough sheets to make this recipe gluten-free.
