Description
Grilled cabbage steaks are a healthy and delicious way to enjoy cabbage. With a few simple ingredients, these cabbage steaks are tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, making them the perfect low-carb side dish. Customize them with your favorite sauces or toppings for a versatile and flavorful addition to any meal.
Ingredients
1 large head of cabbage (green or red)
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt
Pepper
Toppings of choice (optional)
Instructions
-
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
-
Trim the bottom of the cabbage so it can stand up, being careful not to cut too much off. Stand the cabbage up and slice it into ¾–1 inch thick pieces.
-
Drizzle both sides of the cabbage steaks with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
-
Place the cabbage steaks directly on the grill over medium-high heat. Grill for 5-6 minutes on each side, flipping carefully to avoid breaking the pieces.
-
Once the cabbage is tender and crispy on the edges, remove from the grill and top with your favorite sauce or garnish with fresh herbs.
-
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Storage/Reheating: Store leftover grilled cabbage steaks in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days. To reheat, place them back on the grill or in the oven at 375°F for 5-7 minutes until heated through.
Variations: Add a sauce like ranch or balsamic glaze for extra flavor, or sprinkle shredded cheese on top before grilling for a cheesy twist. Spice things up by adding chili flakes or hot sauce to the oil before grilling.
