Description

Grilled cabbage steaks are a healthy and delicious way to enjoy cabbage. With a few simple ingredients, these cabbage steaks are tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, making them the perfect low-carb side dish. Customize them with your favorite sauces or toppings for a versatile and flavorful addition to any meal.

Ingredients

1 large head of cabbage (green or red)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt

Pepper

Toppings of choice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

  2. Trim the bottom of the cabbage so it can stand up, being careful not to cut too much off. Stand the cabbage up and slice it into ¾–1 inch thick pieces.

  3. Drizzle both sides of the cabbage steaks with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  4. Place the cabbage steaks directly on the grill over medium-high heat. Grill for 5-6 minutes on each side, flipping carefully to avoid breaking the pieces.

  5. Once the cabbage is tender and crispy on the edges, remove from the grill and top with your favorite sauce or garnish with fresh herbs.

  6. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Storage/Reheating: Store leftover grilled cabbage steaks in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days. To reheat, place them back on the grill or in the oven at 375°F for 5-7 minutes until heated through.

Variations: Add a sauce like ranch or balsamic glaze for extra flavor, or sprinkle shredded cheese on top before grilling for a cheesy twist. Spice things up by adding chili flakes or hot sauce to the oil before grilling.
