Whether you enjoy it as a simple side or with added cheese, this recipe is a guaranteed hit!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can beef consommé
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large oven-safe dish, combine the long-grain white rice, French onion soup, beef consommé, melted butter, and garlic powder (if using). Stir well to ensure the rice is evenly coated.
  3. Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil.
  4. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.
  5. Once cooked, remove from the oven and let the dish sit for about 5 minutes to allow the rice to absorb any remaining liquid.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.

Notes

  • Add Cheese: For a cheesy twist, top the rice with shredded cheese like Gruyère or mozzarella, and bake for an additional 5 minutes until melted and bubbly.
  • Add Herbs: Fresh thyme or parsley can be sprinkled on top after baking for a burst of fresh flavor.
  • Meat Add-ins: Add cooked ground beef or sautéed mushrooms for extra richness and texture.
