Description

Praline Crunch is an irresistible, crunchy snack that perfectly balances sweet and salty flavors. Combining crispy Crispix cereal, toasted pecans, and a rich praline coating, this treat is easy to make and perfect for any occasion. Whether served at parties or enjoyed as an afternoon snack, Praline Crunch will quickly become a go-to favorite. The rich caramel coating adds a satisfying sweetness, while the crunch of the cereal and nuts keeps you coming back for more!

Ingredients

  • 8 cups Crispix cereal
  • 2 cups pecan halves (salted preferred)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat for easy cleanup.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the Crispix cereal and pecan halves. Set aside.
  3. Make the praline coating: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and corn syrup. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, cook for 4-5 minutes without stirring.
  4. Add vanilla and baking soda: Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. The mixture will bubble up—be careful!
  5. Coat the cereal mixture: Immediately pour the praline mixture over the cereal and pecans. Stir gently to coat everything evenly.
  6. Bake: Spread the mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure the coating evenly coats the cereal and pecans.
  7. Cool: Remove from the oven and allow the Praline Crunch to cool completely on the baking sheet. The coating will harden as it cools.
  8. Serve: Once cooled, break into pieces and serve. Store any leftovers in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Add Chocolate: Drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled Praline Crunch for an indulgent touch.
  • Other Nuts: Feel free to swap pecans for cashews, almonds, or walnuts for a different flavor.
  • Spices: Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the caramel coating for extra warmth.
